| HISTORIC RAILCAR PLAZA National City, California The City of National City in conjunction with the San Diego Unified Port District’s public art program developed this public plaza and exhibit of a restored National City and Otay Railroad Open Passenger Coach. The restored railcar housed in a specialty designed building can roll out into the plaza for special events. The building consists of a tall wood and glass structure with exposed wood trusses, tile roof and historic display areas. The Historic Railcar Plaza will serve to welcome visitors and residents to the National City Marina, complement the Historic Train Depot across the street, and provide the community with a source of pride in its past and a vision for the future. |
