The project involved the full conversion of a former Emergency Department into dedicated Adult and Youth EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment & Healing) Behavioral Health Units. BSE provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design services, including HVAC system modifications to ensure proper ventilation, thermal comfort, and acoustic separation between units. Electrical scope encompassed behavioral health-compliant lighting design, small power distribution, and specialized calming room lighting control systems — all selected and configured to meet the safety and ligature-resistance requirements inherent to psychiatric care environments.
