BSE provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for the Emergency Department (ED) Transformation project at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. Project scope included the new Retail Outpatient Pharmacy, ED Triage Check-in, Four (4) ED Triage beds, ED Entry Vestibule and EKG and Blood Draw Stations as well as a re-fresh to the existing ED Lobby.
Mechanical and plumbing design included HVAC systems, piping, medical gases, waste & vent. HVAC load calculations and air balancing were performed to ensure that the airflows within the space met the required air change rates / pressurization of Table 4-A in the California Mechanical Code.
Electrical design included power, lighting, and low voltage systems – including Data, Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, and Security. The existing electrical distribution was also assessed for its adequacy for use to serve the remodeled areas within the emergency department. BSE design allowed for the project to be constructed without disrupting the operation of adjacent hospital spaces.
